Im used to having a traditional handbrake and doing a hill start on a manual car. My 2021 corolla has an e-handbrake and hill start assist. The handbrake can't be released unless my foot is on the brake pedal. Hill-starting needs a foot on the clutch and another on the accelerator. Am I supposed to use hill assist to hill start?
Your3008 will have hill start assist so there's no need to use the handbrake. When you come to a stop on a hill, hold the car still with your foot on the brake. When it's time to move off, the hill start assist will keep the car held still for a couple of seconds while you move your foot from the brake to accelerator and release the clutch.
